Job Description: As a Tradesman or Leading Hand, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical and instrumentation equipment and infrastructure. For the Leading Hand role, you will run small projects both in‐town and out‐of‐town, with assistance from the company's director as required. You will ensure safe and efficient operation of electrical systems across a diverse range of industrial, commercial, power generation, and mining businesses in Geraldton and surrounding areas.
Key Responsibilities:
* Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment for clients.
* Troubleshoot and resolve electrical faults, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
* Work with control systems, instrumentation, motors, switchboards, and other industrial electrical infrastructure.
* Provide shift coverage for local industrial clients.
* Interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation.
* Perform preventative maintenance to ensure reliability and safety of electrical systems.
* Assist with commissioning and testing of new installations in both green‐field and brown‐field environments.
* Follow strict safety guidelines and adhere to industry standards and regulations.
* Collaborate with team members to meet project goals.
* Keep accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and services performed.
Skills & Qualifications (Essential):
* Valid Australian Electrical License (A Grade).
* Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical manuals.
* Strong attention to detail, problem‐solving skills, and proactive approach to work.
* Solid understanding of safety regulations and electrical practices in industrial environments.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Genuine interest in the electrical industry, willingness to learn, and adapt to new environments.
Skills & Qualifications (Not essential but preferred):
* Knowledge of industrial electrical systems, including control systems, instrumentation, and automation equipment.
* Experience with fault finding and troubleshooting in complex industrial and commercial settings.
* Working at Heights.
* MSIC; if you don't have one we will provide it.
