Copper Refineries Pty Ltd is one the world’s leading electrolytic copper refineries, capable of producing 300,000 tonnes per year of premium-quality ISA brand LME Grade A copper cathode using Glencore’s proprietary IsaKIDD refining process. Glencore Port Operations at the Port of Townsville is the export gateway for our north Queensland products.

The Role
Glencore Copper Refinery is currently advertising for one residential vacancy that exist within the Refinery Maintenance team.
These exciting opportunities will see you gain exposure to the many aspects of maintenance work involved in an industrial copper refining plant. Reporting to the Maintenance Shift Supervisor, you will provide maintenance activities in a safe, efficient and cost effective manner to maintain production targets and uphold all statutory requirements. Working with skilled and enthusiastic teams, this position will allow you to develop and apply your technical skills and knowledge of the Mechanical Trade.
The successful candidates will be responsible for:
Perform routine maintenance and servicing of Fixed Plant across the operationFault finding and trouble-shooting machinery issuesManaging repairs, servicing and maintenance of machinery and equipmentReviewing, creating and modifying preventative maintenance plans for optimum reliabilitySupporting improvement projects that aim to reduce unplanned stoppagesMaintaining and improving OH&S and overall operational standards in the workplaceCoaching and supporting apprentices and production workers to improve their mechanical knowledge and skills
You will have the following skillset and attributes:
Mechanical Fitting & Turning Trade qualification or similar2+ years experience working in heavy industry with hydraulic and pneumatic systemsAbility to read and interpret mechanical/schematic drawingsAbility to learn and understand machinery assembly / disassemblyExcellent trouble-shooting & problem solving skillsFlexible approach and adaptable to change with a high attention to detailGood time management skills and able to work well under pressureDemonstrated ability to work well in a team environmentGood communication skillsWillingness and ability to learn new processesHold a current Australian manual licenceForklift ticket, basic rigger/doggers and EWP tickets would be an advantage
This position will work a 4x4 12hr Day/Night roster.
