Portland District Health is seeking a skilled Graduate Midwife to join our passionate team of midwives and provide high-quality maternity care to the community.

About the Role
This fixed-term part-time position offers 64 hours per fortnight, available from January 2026 to February 2027. The successful candidate will work in a comprehensive range of services, including hospital-based medical and surgical services, medical imaging, pharmacy, and pathology.
The Portland Graduate Midwifery Program (GNP) details are as follows:
* Annual intake of 1 Graduate Midwife
* Program duration: 53 weeks with 5 weeks annual leave
* Comprehensive orientation program and 5 paid study days
* (0.8EFT) 8 days per fortnight
Key Responsibilities
* Provide high-quality midwifery care throughout the continuum of maternity care
* Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver safe and effective care
* Maintain accurate records and participate in quality improvement initiatives
Requirements
* Registration as a Registered Midwife with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
* Ongoing registration with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, including maintenance of Professional Portfolio
