About the role
Join the team at Handy Steel Supplies as a full-time Sales Yard Hand. In this hands-on role, you'll be a key member of our operations team, responsible for assisting with the efficient running of our busy steel supply yard. Based in Beenleigh, Queensland, this position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
What you'll be doing
- Accurately measuring, cutting and preparing steel products to customer specifications
- Assisting with the loading and unloading of delivery trucks
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe work environment
- Providing excellent customer service, including responding to customer inquiries
- Performing regular stock checks and replenishing supplies as needed
- Supporting the wider sales team with various administrative tasks
- Driving of work vehicles to deliver product to customers
- Must hold a valid standard car licence (C class) for customer delivery duties
What we're looking for
- Previous experience in a sales yard, trade or manual labour role regarded but not necessary
- Strong customer service skills and a passion for helping others
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work accurately under pressure
- Good physical fitness and the ability to lift and manoeuvre heavy materials
- A team-oriented attitude and a willingness to pitch in where needed
- Forklift licence or the ability to obtain one would be highly regarded
- HR licence or the ability to obtain one would also be highly regarded
- Open to candidates with all valid work visa types and work rights in Australia
