About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to join a large Federal Government department to provide Level 3 engineering support and technical leadership across a complex, enterprise-scale network environment.
You will be responsible for the design, operation, and optimisation of enterprise network services spanning LAN, WLAN, WAN, SDN, firewalls, and hybrid cloud platforms. The role requires strong technical depth, a security-first mindset, and the ability to work effectively with a broad range of stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide senior-level (Level 3) network engineering support across a large enterprise environment
* Take end-to-end ownership of network infrastructure, standards, documentation, and procedures
* Lead complex fault diagnosis, root cause analysis, and permanent remediation activities
* Ensure network services are reliable, secure, and aligned with governance and security policies
* Manage and resolve incidents and service requests within formal ITSM processes
* Lead or contribute to major incident responses through to resolution
* Enterprise LAN, WLAN, WAN
* SDN technologies (e.g. Cisco ACI)
* Cloud and hybrid networking (AWS and Azure)
* Secure access and cloud security technologies (e.g. Zscaler)
Essential Qualifications & Experience
* 10+ years' experience in enterprise network engineering roles
* Strong expertise in network design, implementation, and operations
* Proven experience with hybrid cloud networking (AWS and Azure)
* Deep understanding of firewalls, network security, and risk management
* Experience leading major incidents and advanced troubleshooting activities
* Active Baseline Security Clearance (mandatory)
