Our client is an Australian FMCG manufacturer that is strengthening its R&D function and seeking an experienced R&D Manager to lead formulation and NPD across Home and Personal Care categories.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone with strong formulation expertise who can lead chemists, manage complex NPD programs, and act as the technical escalation point from lab through to production. The role is site based on the NSW Central Coast.
Key responsibilities:
* Lead and develop a small team of chemists (team of 4)
* Own formulation development for liquid home and personal care products
* Act as escalation point for formulation, stability, and scale-up issues
* Drive NPD projects from concept to launch, including packaging and artwork input
* Ensure regulatory compliance across AICIS, TGA, APVMA and IFRA
* Partner with customers and internal teams on performance, cost, and feasibility
* Identify cost optimisation and product improvement opportunities
About you:
* Degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science or similar
* 5+ years' experience as a Senior Chemist or R&D / Technical Manager in the Australian Market
* Strong FMCG home or personal care formulation background
* Proven experience leading chemists and delivering NPD
* Solid regulatory and documentation capability
* Practical, confident communicator who knows their craft
