Infrastructure Canberra is seeking an Assistant Director Construction Work, Health and Safety who will implement the work health and safety project delivery program and provide expert safety advice to project teams throughout the procurement and management of construction contracts.
In this role, you will work closely with the Director, Construction Work, Health and Safety; the Superintendent of Works; project teams; contractors; and key ACT Government stakeholders to drive safe outcomes across Infrastructure Canberra’s project sites.
To be successful, you will bring demonstrated knowledge and experience in work health and safety and the construction industry.
Key duties include:
* Implementing the Active Certification Policy, including reviewing and identifying trends in Active Certification audit outcomes
* Managing the panel of Active Certification auditors
* Applying Work, Health and Safety (WHS) ‑ weighted assessment criteria to applicable tenders
* Undertaking site surveillance to support safe project delivery
* Providing WHS advice during procurement and contract management, and
* Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to promote safe outcomes across project sites.

Eligibility/Other requirements:
* Experience in work health and safety and construction.
* Relevant qualifications work health and safety and auditing (or ability to gain relevant qualifications within 12 months).

Notes: A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.
This position will be moving to a new workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk.
