Overview
The Oral Health Team at South Western Sydney Local Health District are recruiting for enthusiastic and dedicated Dental Assistants to join the team. We are looking for someone who is passionate about high quality oral health care, has communication skills to build rapport with clients to promote positive health outcomes, and who can involve patients and their families/carers in safe oral health practices. The role focuses on delivering high quality, patient-centred care with opportunities for professional development and career progression.
What You'll Be Doing
The Dental Assistant will undertake a full range of dental assistant duties, providing clinical support and assisting with the efficient delivery of a high quality Oral Health service to eligible clients within South Western Sydney Local Health District.

South Western Sydney is a growing area with good transport links and access to beaches, natural attractions and major urban hubs. The region offers a mix of metropolitan and rural communities with opportunities for exploration and development.
Remuneration and Incentives
Remuneration: $33.26 – $35.53 per hour + superannuation. Eligible for an Attraction and Retention incentive under the NSW Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme, with potential incentives up to $5,000 in the first 12 months and up to $5,000 annually thereafter (dependent on scheme criteria).
Qualifications and Skills
- Certificate III in Dental Assisting or equivalent qualifications and experience.
- Demonstrated experience in service performance and accountability in a Community Oral Health setting, including competence with electronic oral health records and Microsoft applications.
- Understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
- Solid interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills.
- Knowledge of Oral Health Service policies and procedures.
- Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). If licensed in another state, must obtain NSW C class (P1 or P2) within three months of appointment. Learner licenses are not permitted.
