About This Opportunity
The National Account Manager is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with Country Chef’s major clients. They are responsible for managing and nurturing these relationships for mutually beneficial partnerships.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute customer‑focused strategic plans aligned with budget and performance targets.
- Manage a portfolio of national accounts with a hands‑on, commercially driven approach.
- Activate proposals and programs that drive sales growth and category performance.
- Analyse scan data and market trends to identify opportunities and inform decision‑making.
- Build strong internal stakeholder relationships to support delivery of business objectives.
- Lead contract negotiations and proposal development with key clients.
- Ensure exceptional service delivery to key account customers.
- Partner with supply chain and planning teams to ensure accurate forecasting and inventory management.
- Lead the development and execution of promotional plans aligned with brand strategy and ROI targets.
- Support recent product development (NPD) launches with effective customer engagement.
- Manage trade spend budgets to ensure optimal allocation and measurable ROI.
- Deliver regular performance reports and insights to internal stakeholders.
- Monitor competitor activity and market trends to inform strategic decisions.
- Act as a key liaison across sales, marketing, finance, and supply chain teams.
- Travel locally and interstate as required.
- Participate in relevant training, quality meetings, and stay abreast of market best practices.
About You
- Experience managing major national accounts (Coles and/or Woolworths) – essential.
- Strong understanding of scan data and its commercial application – essential.
- Proven ability to develop strategic account plans and deliver results.
- Highly self‑motivated with a proactive, success‑oriented mindset.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Strong commercial acumen and analytical thinking.
- Ability to interpret market insights and translate them into actionable category plans.
- High‑level communication skills – both written and verbal – with strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaboratively across teams.
- Sound judgement, initiative, and a drive for continuous improvement.
