We are seeking an exceptional Workshop Leading Hand to join our team in Kalgoorlie. In this hands-on leadership role, you will be responsible for overseeing daily workshop operations, ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Workshop Operations
Oversee vehicle inspections and testing to ensure functionality, safety, and efficiency.
Plan and coordinate daily activities, allocating tasks and scheduling jobs effectively.
Ensure high-quality workmanship by meeting safety and performance standards within set timeframes.
Maintain compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Conduct regular workshop inspections to identify hazards, defects, and repair needs.
Train and mentor staff, sharing knowledge on safety, best practices, and new technologies.
Foster a positive team culture, encouraging collaboration, productivity, and accountability.
Act as the key liaison between the crew and the Workshop Coordinator.
Identify vehicle issues and maintenance plans to ensure proactive solutions.
Review and sign off on service sheets, maintaining accurate records and compliance.
Provide after-hours breakdown phone assistance, supporting urgent repair needs when required.
Requirements
Trade Qualification (Mechanical/Heavy Vehicle preferred)
Experience in a similar role (2+ years)
Strong knowledge of heavy vehicles & transport equipment
Experience with truck & trailer repairs (road transport industry preferred)
Relevant tickets/licenses (Confined Space, Working at Heights, HRWL – LF EWP desirable)
Ability to pass a pre-employment medical
