**COLAC AREA HEALTH GARDENING GROUP**
Volunteer Gardeners
- Colac Area Health is a values based organisation providing a unique integrated health service comprising of over 500 employees, providing Acute Care, Aged Care, Community and Allied Health Services.
- Colac Area Health has many garden areas across the organisation that provide an opportunity for staff, clients and visitors to interact with a natural setting. The Volunteer Gardening Group's aim is to increase the aesthetic impact of these garden areas and support the ongoing development of the grounds, whilst also providing an opportunity for social connection amongst peers.

**DUTIES**
- 1. Practice good hand hygiene and social distancing where possible

2. Report to Volunteer Coordinator or Maintenance Supervisor for directive on garden area of priority for the month. This will change on a rotating basis according to growth of vegetation and developing projects occurring across the grounds.
- 3. Assist with watering, weeding, pruning and planting on a rotating basis across the following CAH garden areas:

- o Family and Community Programs space
- o Corangamarah Aged Care
- o Miller House
- o Neighbourhood House
- Basic gardening equipment will be provided by Colac Area Health
- 4. All garden cuttings should be placed in to green lidded FOGO kerbside bins, according to Colac Otway Shire guidelines. For larger projects, soil, stone or excluded material, transportation in the CAH Ute to the tip may be required.
- 5. Occasional use of CAH vehicles to pick-up supplies from Bunnings to assist the Maintenance team. Use of CAH vehicles should always be arranged with either the Volunteer Coordinator or Maintenance Supervisor prior to use.
- 6. Complete the Volunteer Activity Record after each shift and provide this to the Volunteer Coordinator when the sheet is full.
- 7. Attend CAH Volunteer Mandatory Training within 3 months of commencement of your role, and every 3 years thereafter.
