Let's explore the role
As Bid Manager, Strategic Projects, you sit at the centre of BAI's growth agenda, leading end‐to‐end bid and tender activity for strategically important infrastructure pursuits.
You will manage complex, long‐cycle opportunities from early qualification through submission and transition to delivery, bringing structure, clarity and momentum to high‐value bids. Working across sales, technical, commercial, legal and delivery teams, you will shape compelling, compliant and customer‐focused submissions that clearly articulate BAI's value proposition.
This role is ideally suited to someone comfortable operating in complex procurement environments, including government and privately funded transport, rail and large‐scale infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Own the full bid lifecycle for allocated opportunities, from qualification through submission, negotiation and handover to delivery
* Act as the central project manager for bids, setting strategy, governance, schedules and review milestones
* Develop bid plans, compliance matrices and submission programs, proactively managing risks, issues and dependencies
* Coordinate inputs across sales, engineering, operations, commercial, HSE, legal and executive stakeholders
* Lead the development of clear win themes, solution narratives and value propositions aligned to customer evaluation criteria
* Ensure submissions are accurate, compliant, commercially sound and submitted on time via relevant portals
* Coordinate pricing and commercial inputs, maintaining visibility of assumptions, risks and mitigation strategies
* Engage with clients, partners and consultants through briefings, workshops and clarification processes
* Embed continuous improvement through win/loss reviews, content libraries and bid process enhancements
* Support seamless transition from bid award into delivery where applicable
Let's hear about you
You are an experienced Bid Manager with a proven track record delivering high‐quality submissions in complex infrastructure environments. You combine strong commercial acumen with exceptional written communication, and you are confident bringing diverse stakeholders together around a shared pursuit strategy.
You bring
* Demonstrated experience managing end‐to‐end bids for major infrastructure projects, with experience across metro, rail or transport projects highly regarded
* Strong capability in developing structured, compelling and customer‐aligned bid responses for RFPs, EOIs and tenders
* Proven ability to manage governance, approvals, compliance and document control in regulated procurement environments
* Confidence coordinating technical, operational and commercial inputs into a single, coherent narrative
* Experience working with complex contracting and procurement models, including alliance, PPP or services‐based delivery
* Well‐developed stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence across all organisational levels
* Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital document production tools; familiarity with bid management or tender portals
* Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Project Management, Business or a related discipline are advantageous
