About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Payroll Officer to join our team. As a Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for providing quality and consistent payroll/administrative activities and support to our employees and related parties.
This role works as an integral part of our People & Culture team. You will be reporting to the Payroll Team Leader and will be responsible for undertaking various administrative duties, including scanning, emailing, photocopying, typing, document production, data entry, record keeping and filing.
You will also be required to accurately maintain personnel records, provide accurate payroll reports, and assist in the preparation and processing of the fortnightly pay run, including checking timesheets within the required deadlines.
Furthermore, you will be responsible for preparing, processing, and reporting on workers compensation claims, including reviewing and reconciling reimbursement schedules. Additionally, you will process employee terminations, including providing employees with certificates of service when required.
Responsibilities
* Provide information and assistance to staff via all forms of correspondence
* Undertake administrative duties as required
* Accurately maintain personnel records
* Provide accurate payroll reports
* Assist in the preparation and processing of the fortnightly pay run
* Prepare, process, and report on workers compensation claims
* Process employee terminations

About You
* You hold qualifications in payroll or have 2 years of payroll experience in a similar role
* You have high proficiency in payroll data entry, including experience working in a high transaction volume environment
* You demonstrate competence with payroll systems and processes
* You have demonstrated knowledge and application of confidentiality principles
* You possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* You demonstrate time management skills and an ability to prioritise tasks
* You have experience with multiple awards and enterprise agreements
* You have experience in using Preceda payroll software or an equivalent system
* You have experience in using Emplive or an equivalent time & attendance system
* You have demonstrated knowledge of the education, health, disability or aged care sectors
