Senior Acoustic Consultant / Associate
WSP has a strong pipeline of Brisbane Olympics 2032 venue opportunities, including key stadium upgrades such as Barlow Park and Sunshine Coast Stadium, as well as opportunities across building acoustics, transport infrastructure, environmental noise, and vibration.
Office locations are Brisbane or Gold Coast, with collaboration across a national team.
Key Responsibilities
* Provision of acoustic consultancy services in support of the technical and commercial needs of the business.
* Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams on large and complex projects.
* Carry out environmental acoustics and vibration investigations, including noise and vibration impact assessments, monitoring, site inspections, mitigation and management.
* Build relationships with internal and external clients.
* Complete noise predictions using specialised acoustic models and software and analyse data.
* Prepare technical reports for review.
* Coach and mentor junior staff.
* Seek opportunities to work fluidly across environmental and building acoustics projects.
About You
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science or equivalent.
* Full Australian driving license.
* 10 to 15 years of experience in acoustics, noise and/or vibration within a consultancy environment.
* Demonstrated technical skills across a broad range of disciplines within Australia or New Zealand.
* Strong working knowledge of Australian acoustic standards and guidelines.
* Experience using acoustics software (SoundPlan, CadnaA or equivalent) and mapping software (QGIS, AutoCad or equivalent).
* Ability to prepare technical reports on small to medium projects.
* Experience leading small projects and managing multiple varying sized projects.
* Ability to write winning proposals and support the group in winning jobs.
* Capacity to deliver client outcomes that save cost and time.
* Experience applying legislation, standards, guidelines and project specifications.
* Skill in identifying risk on small to medium projects.
* Confidence in sharing knowledge to develop junior staff.
* Industry registration such as RPEQ and RPEV is desirable.
