About The Team
Ongoing position with the Travel Team in the Financial and Shared Services Branch, CFO Division.
The Travel Team has responsibility for international travel policy, bookings, and system administration, domestic travel policy, support, and advice.
The opportunity
This is an opportunity for an experienced administration and/or support officer to help in the day-to-day management, support and delivery of travel to the department and learn new skills and gain experience in government travel.

Our Ideal Candidate Has
* Experience within the travel industry or supporting government travel
* Demonstrated organisational skills and a high attention to detail.
* Demonstrated ability to manage time and work in the context of competing priorities.
* The ability to build and maintain stakeholder relationships with staff of all levels
* Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
* The ability to interpret, research and apply policy to a broad range of enquiries.
* Exceptional customer service focus
* The ability to quickly learn processes and systems.
* Strong Microsoft word and excel skills.
* Strong administrative skills
* A general interest in travel and knowledge of fares and ticketing desirable
What you will do
The Key Duties Of This Role Are
* Co-ordinating end to end overseas travel bookings for department staff including SES and Executive and assisting staff with international travel preparations such as official passports, visas, vaccination advice, and compliance checks
* Calculating and arranging payment of claims for domestic and international travel allowances and acquittals, in accordance with the department travel policy.
* Providing support and training on travel policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with departmental and Whole of Government frameworks.
* Assisting staff and the team with domestic and international travel arrangements, queries and escalations to external stakeholders where required.
* Development and maintenance of departmental training and guidance materials
* Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of WoAG Travel Policy and Departmental Travel Policies
* Maintaining accurate records and contributing to reporting and reconciliation processes for travel
* Undertaking compliance and audit activities in line with the department's financial frameworks
* Participate in ad-hoc tasks and projects as needed to support departmental objectives
Eligibility
To be eligible for employment in the APS and the department, candidates must be Australian Citizens.
Positions require a Baseline security clearance and successful candidates will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.

A merit pool may be established and used to fill future vacancies within 18 months from the date the vacancy was first advertised in the Gazette.
The department does currently offer flexible work opportunities for many roles. This vacancy is ACT - Industry House based, although flexible or remote work arrangements may be considered. Please reach out to the contact officer to discuss this further.
