About the Role
We are currently seeking either an Assistant Development Planner, Development Planner OR Senior Development Planner to join our team to ensure the effective, timely and accurate assessment and determination of development applications, proposals, and referrals.
In the Assistant Development Planner role, you will undertake assessment of minor commercial, industrial, residential and rural development proposals including subdivisions and also provide responses to basic planning questions. This role will support the function of the planning and development team.
As a Development Planner OR Senior Development Planner, you will provide written and verbal advice to a range of stakeholders whilst undertaking assessment of commercial, industrial, residential, and rural development proposals, including large scale urban release area subdivisions. You will be responsible for the proficient application of land use policy and compliance with relevant legislation and Council's local laws and policies. You will provide input and assistance to the preparation and review of development controls and policy provisions related to development assessment functions.

This is a permanent full-time opportunity working 35 hours per week.
We are offering a salary range for the Assistant Development Planner of $85,517 - $94,924, Development Planner of $99,354 - $110,283 and the Senior Development Planner of $105,022 - $116,574 per year (based in demonstrated skills and experience) + 11% superannuation.
A private leaseback vehicle is available for the Development Planner and Senior Development Planner.

About You
For the Assistant Development Planner role, you will have a Diploma Level qualification in Town planner or related discipline. You will have an understanding and an ability to interpret legislation and experience in negotiation and facilitation skills to enable resolution of planning issues.
For the Development Planner and Senior Development Planner role, you will possess a degree qualification in Town Planning or related discipline. You will hold contemporary industry knowledge and experience in the development assessment process and interpreting relevant legislation and policy. You will also have experience in negotiation and facilitation with stakeholders to resolve planning challenges to achieve desired outcomes.
In addition to the above, applicants for the Senior Development Planner role will have substantial experience in the development assessment process and the demonstrated experience in interpreting complex information and producing comprehensive reports to enhance decision making.
