Your new role
This is a Principal-level Tech Lead role where you’ll wear two hats — part hands-on engineer, part team leader. You’ll be guiding a small squad through discovery and delivery, working closely with Product Managers to solve real-world problems like improving onboarding for migrants and building AI-powered financial advice tools.
You’ll have the freedom to shape technical direction, mentor engineers, and still get your hands dirty in the code. It’s a role for someone who’s not just technically sharp, but also passionate about building great products and leading change.
What you'll need to succeed
Around 7–12 years of engineering experience, ideally across both frontend and backendProven leadership in a Principal Engineer, Tech Lead or Staff Engineer roleSolid skills in React, Next.js, Kotlin, .NET or Java (happy to switch tech if needed)Strong experience with Docker, Kubernetes and AWSConfident in system design, architecture and leading deliveryA curious mindset and a drive to make a real impact — not just tick boxesComfortable working in a Product Manager-led squad (no traditional PO/BA/QA setup)Someone who’s hungry to lead change, not just maintain the status quo
