Accounts Assistant
Job Description
The role of the Accounts Assistant is to provide support to the finance team in managing and maintaining the company's financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
* Checking and loading payments onto the online banking system
* Reviewing payment requests for completeness
* Communicating with locations to resolve queries
* Loading payments onto the online banking system for approval
* Processing payments on the inhouse DMS system, ensuring allocations are accurate
* Monitoring bank receipts to verify cleared funds
* Requesting confirmation of cleared funds from sites, verifying using the online banking system and returning confirmation to sites
* Managing petty cash
* Providing credit control and chasing up payments
* Reconciling and posting PDQ daily
* Processing daily bank payments and receipts
* Supplier statement reconciliations
* Processing Purchase Ledger invoices
* Allocating company credit card transactions
* Working with both the finance and operational teams to maintain a robust control environment in line with Group policies and procedures
* Ad-hoc tasks as required
* Assisting the ledger teams where needed
* Assisting Accountant and Assistant Accountant with ad-hoc tasks
Requirements
Key requirements include:
* Excellent communication skills at all levels
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
* Previous experience within an Accounts Assistant or Purchase Ledger role preferred
* Knowledge of Kerridge advantageous
* Accounting qualification or desire to study towards an industry-recognised qualification
