The Role This is a hands-on Leading Hand position.
You'll be on the tools while overseeing a small crew, planning work, maintaining standards, and keeping jobs running smoothly.
Your responsibilities will include: Leading and supporting site crews while working alongside them Planning daily and weekly work, rosters, materials, and equipment Liaising with management and clients on day-to-day progress Ensuring quality control, safety, and housekeeping standards Monitoring job progress and adjusting workflow as needed Surface preparation and protective works (training provided where required) Completing QA documentation and job handovers Short-term work away from base when required Chemcote provides structured on-the-job training and support, particularly for tradespeople coming from adjacent, but relevant, industrial backgrounds.
About You Who This Suits You might come from: Blasting protective coatings Industrial or commercial painting Industrial maintenance or shutdown services Heavy industry trades (mechanical, fabrication, asset services) Surface preparation or refurbishment work What matters most is that you: Are trade-qualified or highly experienced in industrial environments Have led or mentored others on site (formally or informally) Take pride in high-quality, safe workmanship Can plan work, solve problems, and communicate clearly Are reliable, practical, and lead by example Specific blasting or coating experience is highly regarded, but not essential.
