Job Overview
We are a renewable energy Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specializing in power inverters and battery energy storage system (BESS) containers. We are seeking an experienced Logistics Officer to manage end-to-end project logistics and delivery operations, covering sea freight and inland transportation for inverter systems and battery containers.
This role is responsible for ensuring safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery of equipment to project sites, managing logistics service providers and suppliers, handling transport-related risks and insurance claims, and performing or coordinating on-site delivery inspections to address any issues arising during transportation.
Key Responsibilities
* 1. Project Logistics & Transportation Management
o Plan, coordinate, and manage end-to-end logistics for inverter and BESS container projects
o Manage international sea freight and inland transportation (road / rail) from factory to project site
o Develop and execute delivery schedules aligned with project timelines
o Ensure compliance with shipping, customs, and local transportation regulations
o Optimize logistics routes, costs, and delivery methods while maintaining safety and quality
* 2. Supplier & Service Provider Management
o Manage and coordinate logistics suppliers, including:
o Freight forwarders
o Shipping lines
o Inland transport providers
o Evaluate supplier performance on cost, delivery, safety, and service quality
o Negotiate logistics contracts, rates, and service agreements
o Maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
* 3. Insurance, Risk & Claims Management
o Manage cargo insurance coverage for inverter and battery container shipments
o Handle transport-related incidents, including damage, loss, or delays
o Lead insurance claims processes, including:
o Incident reporting
o Evidence collection (photos, inspection reports, documents)
o Coordination with insurers, surveyors, and logistics providers
o Implement corrective actions to reduce future transport risks
* 4. On-Site Delivery Inspection & Issue Resolution
o Coordinate or perform on-site delivery inspections upon arrival of equipment
o Identify and document any transportation-related damages or handling issues
o Work closely with project, quality, and engineering teams to assess impact and corrective measures
o Support site teams during unloading and placement of heavy or sensitive equipment
* 5. Documentation & Reporting
o Ensure completeness and accuracy of logistics documentation, including:
o Shipping documents
o Customs paperwork
o Delivery notes and inspection reports
o Prepare logistics status reports for project and management teams
o Maintain logistics records and lessons learned for continuous improvement
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field
* Proven experience in project logistics or heavy equipment transportation
* Experience managing sea freight and inland transportation
* Knowledge of logistics operations in renewable energy, power electronics, or industrial equipment
Preferred Skills & Experience
* Hands-on experience in logistics for inverters, battery energy storage systems (BESS), transformers, or similar heavy/valuable equipment
* Experience managing cargo insurance and insurance claims
* Experience with on-site delivery inspection and damage assessment
* Familiarity with international trade terms (Incoterms), customs clearance, and HSE requirements
* Negotiation and supplier management skills
* Ability to work across functions and with external partners
