As an Apprentice Mechanical Tradesperson, you will develop technical expertise and hands-on experience in the inspection, servicing, and repair of a diverse fleet of plant, vehicles, and equipment. You will work under the guidance of qualified Mechanical Tradespersons and contribute to RoadTek's commitment to quality, safety, and performance standards.Key Accountabilities:- Perform repairs, servicing, and non-structural welding on heavy earthmoving equipment, trucks, motor vehicles, and associated machinery.- Carry out maintenance tasks on engines, cooling systems, transmissions, brakes, fuel systems, axle assemblies, hydraulic systems, and electrical components.- Fulfil duties in accordance with the Queensland Apprenticeship Board requirements for an Apprentice Engineering Tradesperson (Mechanical).- Attend scheduled training blocks to complete the theoretical components of your trade qualification.- Adhere to the Queensland Public Service legislative framework and Code of Conduct, consistently modelling ethical behaviour.Mandatory qualifications and conditions:- The preferred candidate will need to complete a Fit for Work Medical assessment to ensure readiness for the physical demands of the role.- You must have successfully completed at least Year 10 or a TAFE Pre-Vocational trade course.- You'll need a valid Queensland 'C' class manual driver's licence or be able to get one within an agreed timeframe.- Some travel will be required across Queensland, including short stays in different locations.
