About The Role

Ambulance Victoria is currently seeking a suitably experienced senior leader in the position of Executive Director, Regional Operations. A key member of the Executive and working closely with the Chief Executive, this position will provide a high level of strategic leadership and direction to AV's Clinical Operations to deliver high quality and responsive pre-hospital emergency care and treatment for every patient, every time.

With an ability to effectively lead the Regional Operations division, drive cultural transformation and foster teamwork and connection, this position will be critical to:

* Contributing, as a member of the Executive, to the development and implementation of AV's strategic plan and objectives, influencing both divisional and organisation wide performance
* Defining, in consultation with the Executive team and wider organisation, AV's direction for Clinical Operations, to enable and deliver best possible treatment and care for every patient, every time
* Providing professional knowledge and expertise in the development and implementation of innovative and effective strategies for the consistent delivery of high-quality clinical outcomes
* Positioning AV in the health and emergency service systems as experts in patient-focussed emergency/pre-hospital healthcare to the Victorian community
* Leading to build a high-performance, collaborative culture that fosters continuous improvement and professional development
* Leading and contributing to a safe, lawful, and respectful workplace culture through the modelling of ethical and positive behaviours consistent with the AV values


About You

Suited to highly motivated and strategic senior leader, the successful applicant will possess:

* Completion of a postgraduate degree or relevant industry certification with extensive relevant experience or an equivalent combination of training and high-level relevant experience in healthcare administration or a public health related discipline, to understand and/perform technical and/or clinical aspects of the role
* Significant senior operations management experience including a deep understanding of the development, implementation and evaluation of wide scale service delivery and operational programs including experience in day-to-day running and development, and decision making for service delivery
* Commitment to building a responsive, future focused and contemporary culture which supports the workforce to deliver true excellence in patient care with experience in designing, driving and implementing strategic organisational improvement programs
* A sound understanding of the principles and practices for delivery of patient safety and consumer experience programs, with experience applying a patient-centred lens to design and delivery of services, workforce learning and development
* A high level of communication with an ability to build and maintain relationships and influence, negotiate, and generate buy-in with a range of stakeholders, both internal and external
* A coaching, mentoring and leadership approach to motivate, encourage, and support teams across the employee lifecycle

This position is classified as an Executive Contract. This position will be fixed term for five years. This position is Victorian based, and the successful applicant must be present in our Doncaster Headquarters as their primary location, with a presence also required at our other business centres and across the state as required.
