As our new Sales Manager, you will manage and grow the specialty composites business while building strong, long-term partnerships with key existing and prospective customers across the region. You will focus on strategic market sectors, developing high-value new business and delivering margin budgets and targets in line with annual plans and the 5-year strategy, working closely with customers on the shop floor alongside the technical support team.
In this role, you will drive growth across key markets including Marine, Construction, Chemical Containment and Solar along the East Coast of Australia, while also providing insight into the wider Oceania market. You will identify new routes to market and expansion opportunities for composites, including wider distribution networks, tolling arrangements, and strategic partnerships.
Some of your key responsibilities:
* Lead and develop sales activity across selected regional accounts, delivering targeted sales margins, strong payment performance and cost-effective results in line with budget.
* Build and maintain strong, long-term commercial and technical relationships with key customer stakeholders, including directly managed accounts and those supported through distribution networks.
* Drive new business development within targeted market sectors, actively prospecting new partnerships and routes to market, and tracking progress through the CRM system.
* Work cross-functionally with technical, operations, marketing, finance and supply chain teams to support pricing strategies, technical audits, forecasting accuracy and excellent customer service.
* Manage pricing agreements, understand competitor positioning, and oversee technical audits to promote and demonstrate existing and new products.
* Travel as required to support customer relationships, provide cover for the Victoria branch when needed, and contribute to wider organisational knowledge sharing and team objectives.
What do I need to be successful in this role?
* Experience working with composites, ideally within a technical or application-focused environment.
* Significant industrial sales experience, with a strong track record of delivering commercial results.
* Proven ability to develop close, effective working relationships with customers and internal sales teams.
* Experience working within industrial distribution, with the capability to drive operational excellence across departments.
* Confident, influential communication and negotiation skills.
