**The Role**
Explosive Materiel Branch (EMB) within Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group is seeking enthusiastic and highly motivated individuals to join our team to deliver program governance and assurance outcomes.

The role:

- Supports acquisition project and sustainment management teams to ensure their processes and project controls align with Defence's governance and assurance framework;
- Fosters a collaborative working culture by providing the conduit for information flow between the EMB Program Management Office (PMO) and the EMB business units;
- Coordinates PMO routine requests for project/sustainment performance information, assurance reviews, risk and issue management and reporting activities;
- Supports a consistent programmatic approach to ensure Capability outcomes are delivered to meet requirements including work take-on and sovereign industry capability;
- Other PMO support functions as directed.

To succeed in these roles you will need to:

- Demonstrate strong skills in negotiation, prioritisation, organisation and building relationships across the Australian Defence Force (ADF), working with a variety of APS, ADF and contracted stakeholders;
- Lead a team, managing allocated resources, setting work area priorities, managing workflows, developing strategies and evaluating business outcomes;
- Be accountable for accurate completion of work within timeframes and quality requirements, share own expertise with others and guide and mentor less experienced employees;
- Plan, lead and manage program/project management, quality assurance, governance, auditing and corporate reporting activities and identify improvements;
- Implement and provide advice on efficient and effective program/project management, quality assurance, governance and business reporting functionalities;
- Liaise with team members and identify, assess, prioritise and coordinate program/project management, quality assurance, governance and reporting activities;
- Design and implement strategies to enhance the effectiveness of quality assurance, governance and risk management processes.

**About our Team**
The role of Explosive Materiel Branch is to acquire and sustain explosive ordnance capabilities for the Australian Defence Force. Currently the branch is managing 28 acquisition projects and the sustainment of more than 1000 different munition types including 35 types of complex guided weapons. In addition, the branch manages two explosive ordnance manufacturing facilities.

The branch comprises of the following business units:

- Aerospace Explosive Ordnance Systems Program Office;
- Land Explosive Ordnance Systems Program Office;
- Maritime Explosive Ordnance Systems Program Office;
- Munitions Industrial Base;
- Program Management Office;
- Business Management Office;
- Directorate of Engineering.

Roles exist in the Program Management Office.

You will have experience in planning, leading and managing a range of human and physical resources to achieve defined business outcomes. You will take initiative for achieving outcomes, progressing work, reviewing team and business performance and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. You will work with independence and set work tasks that align with the strategic objectives and communicate expected outcomes to an extensive range of stakeholders.
