Scope
As a Senior API Developer, you'll play a key role in shaping and evolving our API product suite. You'll design, build, and maintain high-quality applications and components that power critical integrations across the business. In this role, you'll tackle a mix of meaningful work: enhancing and maintaining established products while also getting the chance to design and deliver new APIs and stand-alone applications as new projects emerge. You'll work closely with a broad range of systems across DA, using your technical expertise to solve real business problems and improve how our platforms connect and scale.
Tasks & Responsibilities
You will take responsibility for the following:Deliver product enhancements and bug fixesReview code and contribute to solution design across products and projectsMentor junior developers and promote high standards of quality and processRepresent the team with internal and external stakeholders, advising on products and capabilitiesCollaborate with Architecture and DA Technical Leads to improve tooling and development practicesProvide a professional, client-focused experience for internal and external usersFollow SDLC processes and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and audit requirementsAct as the Integration & Payments Product Owner delegate when required
Essential Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience) with at least 5 years' experience in a similar software development roleStrong programming experience in C# and/or Java, with solid use of modern development tools and practices (IDEs, Git, CI/CD)Experience designing and building APIs (REST and/or SOAP) and developing cloud-based applications, particularly on AWSGood understanding of web, networking, database fundamentals, and secure coding practicesExcellent communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and operate effectively under pressure
Desirable Skills & Qualifications
Experience with .NET, serverless development (AWS Lambda), and container-based platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS ECS)Experience with IIS, PowerShell scripting, and test-driven development practicesExperience with relational databases (e.g. MS SQL Server, SAP ASE), including query optimisation and database architecture conceptsUnderstanding of SOA concepts, enterprise design patterns, and production-scale systemsExperience in the banking or financial services sector, including mentoring or supporting team members
