Bourkies Bakehouse, a beloved country-style bakery established in 1989, is looking for a talented Baker/Pastry Cook to join our team. Successful candidates will be part of kitchen leadership team and play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing our customers satisfaction. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

* As our Baker/Pastry Chef, you'll prepare a variety of pastries, cakes, and breads each day, ensuring consistency, quality, and beautiful presentation.
* You'll have the opportunity to bring your ideas to life, contributing to new products and seasonal specials, all while maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
* To lead by example and ensure all procedures (Health and Safety, Food Handling, Hotel policies) are maintained to the required standard and are being followed by all kitchen members.
* preparing, mixing, baking and finishing of products to specified guidelines and time frames maintaining a high standard of quality and consistency operating mixers, rack ovens and other pastry related equipment
* Manage and deliver the production needs of the kitchen section to the required standard.
* Communicate effectively, both with the team and with management.
* Manage time through effective planning to maintain a high level of productivity.
* Motivate team members through positive behaviour.
* Utilise coaching skills and demonstrate the development of other team members.
* Participate in the organisation of ordering, cost controlling and waste management of food.
* Support decisions made and adapt to changes, showing flexibility and enthusiasm.
* Proactive in self-development.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:

1. Certificate IV in Patisserie is required

2. Diploma in Hospitality preferred

3. Minimum of 1 year work experience required

4. Knowledge of health and safety, and food handling requirements to maintain required standards.

PAY RANGE:

$80,000-$85,000 plus Super
