Job Description

The Family Intervention Support Worker plays a vital role in our organization, working closely with families to provide intensive support and supervision in the home.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

* Building rapport with families while maintaining professional boundaries
* Supporting families to care for and protect their children through practical support strategies and modelling parenting and household skills
* Maintaining regular contact with clients as directed
* Facilitating supervised contact between parents and children and supporting report completion
* Participating in reviews of intervention plan goals
* Maintaining client files according to agency procedures, including case noting and documentation

Key Responsibilities:

1. Establish trust and build relationships with families from diverse backgrounds
2. Develop and implement individualized support plans to meet the unique needs of each family
3. Provide guidance and support to families on parenting and household skills
4. Collaborate with other professionals to ensure comprehensive support for families
5. Document all interactions and updates in client files


Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

* A Certificate IV or higher in Community Services or related field
* A valid Working with Children Blue Card and Disability Services Yellow Card
* A current open driver's license

Desirable Qualifications:

* Experience or skills in community education or group work
* Relevant experience in community services or the NFP/faith-based sectors
