About the Role
Teys Australia has an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced Livestock Buyer to join the Livestock team based at Beenleigh, south side of Brisbane, Queensland. This role will be responsible for the purchasing of appropriate livestock for processing and feeding, and will play a crucial role in our supply chain operations. You will be a part of a collaborative and experienced Livestock team who is passionate and dedicated to sourcing the highest quality cattle across our sites.
Role responsibilities:
* Purchase necessary livestock to suit Teys branded programs for our feedlots - via both over-the-hook and sale yard methods
* Liaise with the Livestock Manager and General Manager Livestock regarding appropriate sourcing of cattle, including trend activity and forecasting of supply availability.
* Establish and maintain productive relationships with producers, agents, and the general community in the designated region.
* Prepare and maintain appropriate and accurate records.
About You
It is essential that you have the following experience/skills:
* Experience in cattle buying for export beef processing
* Current driver's license
* Knowledge of and a solid reputation within the cattle producer community
* Customer-first mindset.
Desirable:
* Sound computer literacy skills
* Direct sale yard exposure.
