Poachers is looking for a our next Restaurant and Events Manager; someone who is passionate about food and wine and delivering exceptional hospitality.

At Poachers, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional food and wine with welcoming country hospitality. The Poachers Restaurants was listed in the SMH Good Food Guide in 2025; we're an established restaurant built on the love of good food and wine and sharing it with family and friends.
Our family business also operates a vineyard, weddings and events and smokehouse on the family's property, located between Canberra and Murrumabatemen.
We're seeking a dedicated individualto lead our front-of-house restaurant and weddings team, overseeing all aspects of our food and beverage operations.
The Poachers Restaurant operates Wednesday to Sunday from 10:30AM to 5PM with lunch service from 11:30AM-3PM. During wedding season (6 months of the year), there are dinner shifts, primarily on Saturday nights.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee daily food and beverage operations to ensure excellence in service and quality.
* Lead, train, and manage front-of-house staff, fostering a positive and high-performing team culture.
* Work closely with the General Manager and Executive Chef to ensure seamless coordination, food service delivery and customer satisfaction.
* Maintain established service standards, policies, and procedures.
* Manage inventory, beverage and retail purchasing, and supplier relationships.
* Monitor financial performance including wage budgeting, cost control, and revenue reporting.
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations.
About You
* Proven experience in a similar managerial role in a high end restaurant or hospitality setting.
* Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Abilitity to understand and communicate with variety of people, both staff and customers.
* Strong knowledge of food, wine and beverage trends and service standards.
* Approachable and warm, enthusiastic with the ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and a calm and controlled demeanor.
* Passionate about providing hospitality while following FOH SOPs to create a memorable Poachers experience.
* Understanding and ability to use and manage hospitality software systems (e.g., Nowbookit and Square).
* NSW RSA Certification required; additional qualifications in hospitality management are a bonus, including WSET.
