**Job Overview:**
A Cancer Care Specialist is responsible for administering chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments, educating patients on self-care strategies, conducting comprehensive patient assessments, liaising with the multi-disciplinary team, and delivering education and support for health recovery.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Administer chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments in accordance with established protocols and guidelines.
* Educate patients on self-care strategies to manage side effects associated with treatment.
* Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to identify potential risks and develop appropriate care plans.
* Liaise with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure seamless coordination of care.
* Deliver education and support to patients and their families on health recovery, rehabilitation, or end-of-life needs.
**Required Skills and Qualifications:**
* Current registration with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency).
* Working with Children check.
* Experience working in oncology and haematology.
* Competency in PICC (Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter), PORT (Percutaneous Transluminal Angioplasty), IV cannulation, and phlebotomy skills.
