About This Role: As a Project Owner (PO) at CAE, you will play a pivotal role in managing the engineering backlog for one or more projects within the International Defence and Security Portfolio. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including System and Software Architects, Project Specialists, Engineers, Military Training Experts and Product Owners to ensure that the technical solutions align with training requirements, budget constraints and customer expectations. This role requires a strong understanding of Agile methodologies, technical acumen, and the ability to lead and influence across departments.

Responsibilities

- Define the project scope with System Architects and Technical Leads
- Own and manage a unified project backlog in JIRA
- Maintain alignment between technical solutions and project scope
- Develop and manage cross-departmental release plans and roadmaps

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s Degrees in computer engineering, software engineering, electrical engineering, hardware engineering, aerospace engineering, computer science or related fields
- Proficiency in JIRA and Agile methodologies
- Proven experience as an Agile Product Owner or System Software Developer
- Risk identification and mitigation expertise

- Location: Sydney, New South Wales, Australia (e.g., Homebush, NSW); hybrid working approach

Security Requirements

As the Australian Department of Defence is a major client, you must be eligible for SECRET (NV1) level Defence security clearance, and preferably already hold a current SECRET (NV1) clearance.
