Role Description
We are seeking a skilled and passionate full-time Sushi Chef to join our Melbourne, VIC location in an on-site capacity. The Sushi Chef will be responsible for preparing high-quality sushi dishes, ensuring food safety and hygiene standards, and collaborating with the kitchen team to maintain exceptional culinary experiences. The role includes tasks such as selecting and preparing fresh seafood, creating innovative menu items, and managing inventory. A commitment to excellence and a passion for Japanese cuisine are essential for this role.
Qualifications
* Proven expertise in Food Preparation and general Culinary Skills
* Experience in Cooking with a focus on Japanese cuisine, including sushi and seafood
* Knowledge and adherence to Hygiene and food safety standards
* Ability to source and handle fresh Seafood with care and precision
* Excellent time management and multitasking capabilities in a fast-paced environment
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Formal culinary training and/or certifications in food safety or Japanese cuisine are a plus
* Previous experience working as a sushi chef or in a similar role is highly preferred
