About the role
We are seeking an experienced and talented Head Chef to lead the kitchen team at Duke's Restaurant and Bar in East Maitland, NSW. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all culinary operations, developing innovative menus, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation. This is a full-time permanent role that will play a vital role in the continued success of our renowned restaurant.

What you'll be doing
1. Manage all aspects of the kitchen operation, including menu planning, recipe development, and food preparation
2. Lead and mentor a team of kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment
3. Ensure adherence to food safety and hygiene standards, as well as efficient inventory management and cost control
4. Collaborate with the management team to create and implement strategic plans for the restaurant
5. Continuously research industry trends and implement creative, high-quality dishes to enhance the dining experience
6. Maintain positive relationships with suppliers and local producers to source the freshest, highest-quality ingredients
What we're looking for
1. Minimum 5 years' experience as a qualified Chef in a reputable restaurant or hospitality establishment
2. Extensive knowledge of food preparation, kitchen management, and culinary best practices
3. Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a kitchen team
4. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a keen eye for detail
5. Passion for creating innovative, flavourful dishes and a commitment to using fresh, locally-sourced ingredients
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with front-of-house staff
7. Relevant qualifications cookery or hospitality management
