Seeking an experienced Practice Manager (GP and Urgent Care Centre) to join our team at Aegis Health. Full-Time Role Join our team, and our mission. The Urgent Care Centre/ GP Practice The Aegis Health Urgent Care Centre (UCC)/GP Practice offers an alternative to hospital admission through subacute beds. It provides short-term, same-day care for non-life-threatening urgent conditions (ED triage category 4 & 5) that would typically be treated in an emergency department. After treatment, patients are discharged, and their ongoing care is referred back to their usual GP. About the Role The Practice Manager reports to the Director of Clinical Services, who provides oversight and guidance. The Medical Centre serves general patients and corporate clients, offering services such as pre-employment checks, injury management, skin checks, and mental health care. The role requires someone capable of working independently with minimal supervision, although support is always available. Position Key Responsibilities: · Oversee daily operations of the General Practice (GP) and Urgent Care Centre (UCC). · Manage recruitment, staff performance, supervision, and workforce development. · Ensure high standards in medical administration and patient care, aligned with practice policies. · Develop, implement, and maintain UCC/GP policies and clinical procedures. · Lead accreditation processes and ensure compliance with relevant healthcare standards. · Supervise nursing and allied health teams and monitor training and orientation requirements. · Support clinical governance through credentialing, risk management, and clinical documentation. · Facilitate team building, collaborative decision-making, and inter-professional support. Administration and Reception · Provide comprehensive administrative assistance to doctors and practice staff. · Coordinate daily service operations with support from the broader practice team. · Maintain strict patient confidentiality in line with privacy laws and practice policies. · Collaborate with internal and external healthcare professionals to support holistic, multidisciplinary care. · Deliver empathetic, professional, and culturally sensitive front-line customer service to all patients and visitors. Collaborative Work · Provide leadership within Aegis Health and SMHS, representing the organisation in key partnerships. · Oversee billing processes (Medicare, DVA, Work Cover, private billing, PIP) and ensure cost-effective resource use. · Lead clinical governance initiatives and practice improvement programs. · Manage patient feedback (complaints and compliments) and ensure culturally appropriate care. · Promote mental health and community programs under a primary healthcare framework. · Participate in clinical reviews, case conferences, and support evidence-based change initiatives. · Build partnerships with inpatient and community health agencies for case management. · Maintain professional development and uphold communication and accountability structures. · Perform other duties as required to support service and organisational goals. About You Hold the following accreditation, skills and working rights: · Education & Experience: Diploma in Practice Management or minimum 2 years’ recent experience as a Practice Manager. · Certifications: Current First Aid and CPR certification. · Technical Knowledge: Understanding of billing/claiming processes, medical terminology, and basic accounting. · Leadership: Proven ability to lead, establish, deliver, and evaluate healthcare services. · Communication: Strong written/verbal communication skills and proficiency with e-health technologies. · Quality & Risk: Skilled in applying quality and risk management in healthcare settings. · Legislative Awareness: Knowledge of legal obligations related to Equal Opportunity, Disability Services, and Occupational Safety and Health. · Technical Proficiency: Competent in Microsoft Office and fluent in written and spoken English.
