About the role
The Mental Health & Wellbeing Program at Eastern Health delivers a transition‐to‐practice program for allied health graduates. The role is supported by a structured learning and development program, supervisors, and an educator. You will work across a range of settings, including child and youth, adult, and older adult mental health, and you will receive ongoing support as you transition into an ongoing role within the program.

About you
- Registered Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia or Australian Health Practitioners Registration Agency, or a Social Work degree approved by the Australian Association of Social Workers for practising membership as a Social Worker.
- Relevant theoretical knowledge, skills, and/or experience in evidence‐based occupational therapy or social work assessment and interventions in a mental health setting.
- Understanding and/or experience of recovery‐oriented mental health practice.
- Ability to engage consumers, families, carers, and supporters in developing and implementing personalised recovery plans.
- Commitment to working with consumers, families, carers, and supporters from diverse cultural and social backgrounds, providing family and gender‐sensitive services.
- Knowledge of the mental health sector, including team roles and community resources.
- Ability and commitment to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including lived experience workforce and external agencies.
- Commitment to supervised and reflective practice, lifelong learning, and further development.
- Computer literacy and willingness to embrace health technologies and informatics.
- High level of self‐awareness and emotional intelligence.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills with consumers, families, and health professionals, including conflict resolution and negotiation.
- Vaccination against infectious disease is a mandatory requirement of this role.
