Asphalt & Logistics Manager
On behalf of Roadways, Searson Buck is recruiting for a senior operations leader to take charge of asphalt plant performance and logistics across Tasmania.
Roadways is one of the state's most established and trusted names in civil infrastructure, with over 90 years of continuous operation. As part of the broader Roadways Group, it delivers specialist services in asphalt production, surfacing, bitumen haulage, and pavement construction—supporting local government, state projects, and private sector partners across Tasmania.
This leadership role will oversee the operation of Roadways' asphalt plants in Bridgewater and Burnie, managing all aspects of production, compliance, team development and delivery to internal and external customers. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Asphalt & Logistics Manager is responsible for coordinating plant schedules, raw material procurement, contractor management and fleet performance—ensuring operational targets are met safely, sustainably and on time.
You'll be supported by a team of plant supervisors, production staff, drivers, and logistics coordinators. Collaboration with technical, asset, and surfacing teams is key to achieving customer outcomes and quality standards. This is a highly visible and hands-on leadership role suited to someone who thrives in dynamic industrial environments with multiple moving parts.
We're seeking candidates with demonstrated experience in heavy plant operations, logistics management, or asphalt production leadership. NHVR Chain of Responsibility knowledge, safety credentials, and strong people management capability are essential.
The role is based at Roadways' Bridgewater Asphalt Plant with regular travel to Burnie and other operational sites.
