Palmers Glass Pty Ltd specialises in glass manufacturing, fabrication and installation, serving both residential and commercial clients for over 30 years. We are seeking a highly skilled **Mechanical Engineering Technician** to join our growing team.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Perform tests on key mechanical systems such as glass cutting machines, tempering furnaces and edging machines to ensure optimal performance.
- Test automated glass handling equipment, like vacuum lifters and conveyors, to ensure smooth production processes.
- Monitor system performance by collecting data from production machinery, including pressure and temperature readings from tempering furnaces.
- Analyse operational data to identify areas for efficiency improvement or troubleshooting issues with glass fabrication systems.
- Assemble and install mechanical components such as hydraulic systems, pneumatic controls and custom-built glass handling machines.
- Oversee the installation of production equipment, ensuring alignment with technical specifications and operational standards.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on glass processing machines, including cutting, polishing and tempering equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults in systems like CNC-controlled glass cutting machines and automated assembly lines.
- Implement safety protocols during the operation of high-temperature glass tempering furnaces and high-precision cutting tools.
- Ensure all mechanical systems comply with industry safety standards and regulations in the manufacturing and installation processes.
- Collaborate with Engineers and production teams to optimise system performance and introduce new mechanical assemblies.
- Document all tests, installations and modifications, ensuring clear communication for continuous improvement efforts.
**Qualifications and Requirements**:
- Bachelor's or associate degree
- 1~2 years of experience in mechanical systems
- Proven experience in mechanical testing, assembly and troubleshooting
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data
Pay: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
