**The Role**
As a Configuration Manager (CM) you will;
- Provide administrative management to a team of Configuration Managers
- Have an understanding of engineering systems and processes
- Demonstrate good configuration principles in accordance with SAE 649-C
- Provide tracking compliance to policies and procedures and resolving or escalating any compliance issues
- Facilitating CM audits
- Mentoring the organization of CM services, concepts, policies, and procedures
- Chairing the configuration control board (CCB) and enacting changes as directed
- Work well independently or as part of a team
- Demonstrate an understanding of explosive munitions and design characteristics
**About our Team**
Working for the Directorate of Engineering (DENG) within Explosive Materiel Branch (EMB) the Configuration Management Team (CM Team) CM Team acts as the conduit for DENG to assure, and assist in ensuring, the safety and reliability of EMB explosive materiel to support the war fighter.
As a member of the Configuration Management Team (CM Team) you will work on a multi-billion dollar portfolio spanning all three Defence Services, Army, Navy and Air Force and your work will support all domains of operations. In addition to Australian Public Servants and Defence contractors you will work closely alongside with Army Navy and Air Force personnel to provide a military capability for Australia and its interest.
You will use your knowledge and experience to provide configuration management guidance to Defence Weapons Engineers and Logisticians alike, and your pragmatic approach will ensure that you and drive the intent of the DENG while complying to core configuration management principals in alignment with the SAE 649C.
Your attention to detail will be paramount as you align configuration data from many countries, in various formats, for vastly different weapons systems. You will manage and monitor the configuration of the inventory with the assistance of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools and Microsoft Office suite.

The ideal applicant would have;
- Management Experience
- Configuration Management Experience
- An understanding of Engineering Systems
- An Engineering or technical background
- Understanding of conventional munitions and their design characteristics
- Intermediate to advance MS Office skills
- Display above average Emerald and Objective skills
- Read and Interpret Engineering and technical documentation
- Have a high level of communication and be able to present to groups of 30 or more
- Demonstrate best practices with record keeping
