About the Project
The Gold Coast Light Rail has revolutionized public transport on the Gold Coast, creating an integrated network connecting more people to more places in one of Australia's most dynamic and fastest-growing cities.
John Holland is the nominated design and construction contractor for GCLR3, which extends the existing light rail network by 6.7 km from Broadbeach to Burleigh Heads. The project includes eight new light rail stations, two new light rail-bus connections, and intersection upgrades along the route.
Funded jointly by the Australian and Queensland governments and the City of Gold Coast, this project will connect communities to business centers, shopping, dining, education, and medical facilities, accommodating the Gold Coast's population growth.
As construction begins, John Holland is recruiting a talented and driven Senior Safety Advisor to play a key role in delivering this iconic project.
About the role
The Senior Safety Advisor monitors, implements, and supports safety practices, systems, and procedures across the project.
Responsibilities include
* Monitoring safety compliance and supporting the wider team
* Administering safety programs
* Assisting with workers' compensation claims and rehabilitation
* Investigating incidents and recommending preventative actions
* Conducting safety inspections and monitoring work areas
* Mentoring Safety Advisors, Graduates, Trainees, and Coordinators
Requirements for success
* Diploma of WHS or equivalent
* 6+ years' experience in a similar role, ideally in major infrastructure or rail projects
