About the role
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated
Medical Scientist (MeS1)
to join our regional laboratories team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in delivering high-quality, multi-disciplined pathology services to regional communities. You will apply your scientific and technical expertise to perform a variety of routine diagnostic techniques while contributing to problem-solving, planning, and analysis to support the delivery of accurate and timely pathology results.
Under general supervision, you will also assist in the development and adoption of innovative techniques and methodologies, ensuring our services remain at the forefront of scientific excellence. As part of a collaborative team, you will provide roster support across all Regional Services laboratories, helping to maintain seamless and reliable operations. About You
You are a proactive, adaptable and detail-oriented Medical Scientist who is motivated by variety, challenge and the opportunity to contribute across multiple regional laboratories. This is a
regional relief scientist role
, requiring
extensive travel across South Australia
to support the 10 country multi-discipline SA Pathology laboratories. All travel costs are reimbursed, and appropriate allowances are provided. Your strong scientific capability, professionalism and ability to work both independently and within diverse team settings will enable you to deliver high-quality diagnostic services wherever you are placed.
Technical Expertise & Problem-Solving
Bringing experience with analytical laboratory equipment, laboratory computing, data processing and general pathology practices. Maintaining, evaluating and troubleshooting laboratory equipment confidently, ensuring reliable and consistent results in varied settings.
Organisational & Time Management Skills
Excel at prioritising workloads, meeting daily targets and maintaining accuracy under pressure. Punctuality and readiness to commence work as scheduled support reliable service delivery across regional sites.
Communication & Customer Service
Communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders and demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills. Provide excellent customer service while handling confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
Knowledge & Adaptability
Possess sound knowledge of laboratory principles, quality procedures and scientific practice. Willingness to travel extensively and adapt quickly to different laboratory environments strengthens the flexibility and reach of SA Pathology's regional services.
