TechRentals is one of the biggest rental providers of test & measurement instruments. We are now looking for a new Category Manager to oversee, develop and grow TechRentals' environmental rental category.
**The new Category Manger's responsibilities**:
Market Development:
- Identify existing and new markets
- Meet with potential and existing suppliers
- Identify upcoming technology/ product projects and equipment trends & propose a market strategy to optimise these opportunities
- Maintain a professional and proactive image with existing and new suppliers.
Market Retention
- Maintain relationships with top customers to ensure ongoing service and assistance.
- Work with technical staff and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs.
Category Management
- Attend and contribute to weekly Category Managers meetings.
- All genuine market opportunities to be identified, researched, and 'go to market strategy proposals & execution plans' prepared
- Work & build relationships with all key suppliers
- Identify existing and new market and product & sub-category opportunities
- Review existing fleet and develop a plan to optimise, broaden and deepen the existing fleet offering
- Effectively manage the ENV 'slow moving' rental list & keep slow movers below 8% of the total ENV fleet
- Seek & listen to sales team feedback and consider it in the context of what is best for the category overall
- Provide a platform and vehicle for a 'continuum of education' for the sales & service teams that is sustainable.
Business Development Planning
- Present to and consult with mid and senior level management a 'dynamic' Category Annual Plan at the beginning of each financial year
- Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in market share
- Identify and develop the company's go-to-market propositions and differentiators in collaboration with marketing.
Management and Research
- Participate in sales meetings
- Work with the marketing team to effectively promote the organisation through targeted local and national campaigns, including social media
- Participate in continuous professional development programs
- Research and develop a thorough understanding of the organisation's people and capabilities
**What you'll need to succeed**
- Empathetic, Authentic, Adaptable, Disciplined, Curious & Humble personality
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, or related disciplines
- Experience working in the construction sector as an Environmental Officer, or as an Environmental Consultant
- Sound knowledge of environmental legislations and regulatory compliance
- Experience with a range of Environmental Monitoring, OH & S and Sampling Equipment
- Strong time management and organisational skills
- Strong presentation and communication skills
- Strong numeric & computer literacy skills.
- Proven attitude, hunger, and desire to develop new business opportunities.
- Australian Driving Licence.
Nice to have:
- Relevant industry experience in Environmental Test and Measurement equipment or specialised interest in any of our key categories
- Relevant industry experience in providing Environmental Rental Solutions & Sales
