MelbourneWealth ManagementContract or TemporaryOur client is a leading Private Wealth Manager seeking an experienced KYC candidate to join their team for an initial 12-month contract in their Melbourne office.This position is within the Account Management Team, responsible for maintaining KYC documentation throughout the client lifecycle, ensuring compliance with the firm’s global standards and local regulatory requirements.The successful candidate will support processes including Client Identification Program (CIP), KYC review, and remediation across all risk levels, including Politically Exposed Persons (PEP) reviews. They will handle timely resolution of sales queries and requests from Global Financial Crimes (GFC), Compliance Testing, and Audit teams.The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of Private Banking & Wealth Management KYC documentation.This role is initially a 12-month contract with potential for extension or transition to a permanent role. Please note that our client is not offering sponsorship; only applicants with full working rights will be considered.Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe candidate should have robust CIP and KYC knowledge, with experience in client onboarding or periodic reviews within the financial services industry being advantageous.Verify the completeness and accuracy of KYC data and documentation, providing review sign-off;Assess AML risk scenarios and escalate to GFC as needed;Respond promptly to frontline queries regarding process and documentation requirements;Proactively follow up on cases and guide frontline teams to resolve remediation issues;Assist the AMT Project Team Lead with maintaining checklists and procedures;Ensure accurate input for project tracking and reporting.Requirements:Strong knowledge of KYC documentation (CIP, Ownership, SOW), industry regulations, and best practices;Excellent analytical and organizational skills;Strong ownership and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently in a high-pressure environment;Effective communication skills to instruct and advise sales teams and stakeholders;Ability to articulate issues clearly and communicate effectively across different organizational levels.Education and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Banking, or equivalent experience;3-5 years’ experience in KYC or Financial Crime;Beneficial Ownership identification knowledge and understanding of trusts are essential, with experience from a top-tier global bank preferred;Previous experience in Compliance or Risk within a private bank or onboarding/periodic review roles is desirable; retail banking experience is not immediately relevant.
