About the Role
As an APS6 Actuary / Data Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in leading data analysis, modelling, and reporting to support the agency's objectives.
This hybrid role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact projects, including actuarial monitoring, scheme forecasting, and policy development.
You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver insights that drive decision-making and improve outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and manage reporting, analysis, and data management activities.
Extract, cleanse, and prepare data from multiple sources, ensuring accuracy.
Develop and update regular performance monitoring frameworks.
Utilise statistical and mathematical modelling techniques for actuarial analyses.
Design and implement models to address business challenges.
Support statutory reporting requirements.
Undertake ad hoc modelling requests and produce detailed reports.
Communicate progress and outcomes effectively to stakeholders.
Skills and Experience
3+ years of experience in actuarial or data science roles, preferably in government policy development.
Proficient in R or Python for data manipulation and analysis.
Strong SQL or SAS programming skills.
Experience with stakeholder engagement and management.
Familiarity with statistical modelling techniques and machine learning applications.
Qualifications
Tertiary qualifications in Actuarial Studies, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or related fields.
Progress towards Associate or Fellowship qualifications (for Actuaries).
Eligibility/Other Requirements

Security Clearance : Must hold or be able to obtain and maintain a Baseline clearance.
