Remuneration
The hourly rate is $37.21 – $43.23, inclusive of superannuation contribution and leave loading.
Responsibilities
* Provide support for children with identified diverse learning needs, including disability, under the direction of a teacher.
* Assist with student welfare, health and wellbeing activities as required.
* Deliver specialized support in preschool, vision, hearing and bilingual settings, in addition to general duties.
Essential Qualifications and Requirements
* On appointment must be working towards or hold an Australian Children's Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) approved Certificate III in Children's Services or Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care.
* Hold a current Working with Children Check clearance.
* Complete mandatory Department of Education training and undertake first‐aid training relevant to the role.
* Receive additional training in medication administration and health support as required by student needs.
Selection Criteria
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* Ability to work with children with emotional, physical or intellectual disabilities.
* Commitment to protecting and promoting the safety, wellbeing and rights of all children.
* Experience working with young children and awareness of young child development.
* Effective communication skills.
Conditions
Applicants working towards the required Certificate III will be appointed on a temporary basis until completion of the qualification. Failure to complete within 12 months of commencement will result in cessation of temporary employment.
