Residential Support Worker (MyLaunchPad)
We are currently recruiting for Residential Youth Support Workers within our MyLaunchPad Team, based in the Smithton area. This program is designed to help young people who are unable to be placed through standard placement avenues, such as foster care, specialist care or other residential contracted service.
These are hands-on Permanent Part time or Casual positions, with most time spent in the house or participating in recreational activities. You will be working directly with children and young people, the positions are based in a 24/7 Residential Setting with fortnightly rotating shift rosters.
The program prioritises the safety and well-being of children and young people, offering a predictable, home-like environment that is culturally safe and responsive. Key Responsibilities
- Provide day to day care, supervision and transport to children and young people
- Actively participate in activities and increase competencies of young people
- Form and maintain professional, nurturing relationships
- Develop, implement and monitor individual plans
- Actively support the child/young person to develop and maintain social skills
- Maintenance of progress notes and report writing
Skills & Experience
- Certificate 4 in Community Services, Youth Work, Mental Health, or other relevant qualification is highly preferred
- A current First Aid and CPR Certificate, or willingness to complete prior to commencement
- Ability to work various shifts (sleepover & active nights) throughout the week
- Experience working with Children, Youth and/or Families within a residential setting
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Vulnerable People check.
