Role Description
This role focuses on supporting individuals who use drugs and their families. It involves working collaboratively to design, implement and evaluate strategies within the framework of peer support.
Responsibilities:
* Assist in developing peer advisory groups for harm reduction initiatives.
* Contribute to creating drug and alcohol treatment programs that address the needs of service users.
* Bring a unique perspective as someone with lived experience of drug use to inform program development, implementation and evaluation.
* Offer one-on-one and/or group support to those affected by drug use, based on agreed models of care and professional guidelines.
About You:
* Able to identify as having experienced or living with drug use.
* Clear understanding of the health and social challenges faced by people who use drugs.
* Understanding of health promotion principles and the factors affecting the health of people who use drugs.
* Knowledge of peer support principles.
* A commitment to maintaining high levels of professionalism and integrity while working within a harm reduction framework.
* Experience engaging with drug and alcohol services.
