Summary of Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Director of Operations is responsible for ensuring that the Firm’s lawyers in Australia have the resources and support necessary to provide excellent service to clients. In collaboration with the Partner-in-Charge (“PIC”) of the Region and the office PICs, the Director of Operations supports the Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth offices, and oversees administrative functions and staff personnel in the region. These functions include, but are not limited to: human resources, financial and billing services, facilities, and records/information governance. The Director of Operations facilitates collaboration between the Firm department teams and offices in Australia, to ensure engagement in firmwide projects and compliance with firmwide policies and procedures.
Additionally, the Director of Operations monitors relevant government statutes and regulations in Australia, works closely with lawyers to meet evolving practice needs and manages regional budgetary goals.
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred;
* Course work either at the undergraduate or graduate level in business administration, finance, computer systems or personnel management;
* Strong leadership skills and willingness to be a role model within the Region.
* Minimum of five (5) years successful hands‑on management; and
* Minimum of ten (10) years of experience at a law or professional services firm, with increasing responsibility and demonstrated leadership capability.
