Your new role
As a temporary AO6 Funding and Performance Analyst based in Townsville, you will play a key role in delivering strategic analysis across activity, funding and cost. You'll support performance reporting, investigate variances and provide insights that guide executive‑level decision making.
You'll help strengthen processes that improve the quality of business, activity and performance data, while coordinating analytics across the service. You will also contribute to business cases, concept briefs, improvement projects and operational planning. A key part of the role is staying informed on health information standards, activity‑based funding developments and benchmarking practices to ensure high performance and strong data integrity across the service.
To be successful, you will bring:
This is an AO6 temporary contract with the opportunity to transition into a permanent role. We are seeking someone who can commence shortly after Easter, with the position based in Townsville City.
Experience in financial or funding analysis, with the ability to interpret complex data and deliver clear, actionable insights.
Strong performance reporting or health analytics capabilities
Skills in SQL, Power BI or advanced data analysis
Relevant qualifications such as CA, CPA, MBA, or equivalent experience
Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to build collaborative relationships
Understanding of activity‑based funding, health information or healthcare performance indicators (highly regarded)
