Role and Location
Position: Early Years Specialist (part-time) within the Early Childhood Approach program. Location: Ipswich, on the lands of the Yuggera, Jagera & Ugarapul Peoples. Hybrid options available. Term: Part-time (4 days per week) until 30 June 2026, with a high likelihood of extension to 31 March 2027. No billable hours.

The Program
Through the Early Childhood Approach (ECA) program, we support families by helping them understand their children's development and needs, find the right support services, and build skills to support their child's growth. We also connect families with local community resources to ensure access to broader support networks.
Your role, your impact
We're seeking an experienced Early Years Specialist to join our diverse team of Allied Health professionals, Social Workers, and Inclusive Education specialists. In this role, you'll:
* Deliver supports, in partnership with families, to help them achieve goals using evidence-informed best practice.
* Use assessments, observations, and your understanding of child development to tailor support options for each child and family.
* Empower families, caregivers, and professionals, helping them build skills and confidence to support children in everyday life using coaching skills.
* Connect children and families with their community to ensure inclusion in settings and activities of their choice.
* Keep thorough records of conversations, developmental progress, and goals in the NDIA business system.
* Guide families through the application, implementation, and funding processes of NDIS plans.
Who We're Looking For
* A degree qualification in Occupational Therapy
* Expert knowledge in child development and early intervention with ability to identify developmental issues
* Proven track record building relationships and supporting families and children with developmental delays/disabilities, including effective home and in-settings strategies
* Comprehensive knowledge of the NDIS Early Childhood Approach and early childhood intervention best practice principles and the National Disability Insurance Scheme
