About the Role:
Step into a creative, dynamic, and fast-paced environment as the Communications and Engagement Coordinator at the renowned John Curtin Gallery. This is your chance to bring your passion for storytelling to life while promoting a well-regarded arts institution with exciting exhibitions, programs, and the Carrolup Centre for Truth-telling.
You'll lead communication efforts that engage diverse audiences through a mix of traditional and digital media, helping to raise the gallery's profile and create a lasting impact.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Plan and execute communication strategies to support key priorities and activities.
* Research, write, and edit content for various audiences across print, digital, and social media channels.
* Utilise digital tools and visual media to enhance messaging and engagement.
* Assess and refine communication strategies to improve audience reach and impact.
* Collaborate with curatorial staff to develop compelling content that conveys artistic concepts.
* Develop advertising strategies and oversee the creation of promotional materials.
* Coordinate, promote, and manage public programs, including artist talks, panel discussions, and exhibition openings.
Selection Criteria:
- A relevant degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or a related discipline, with relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education/training.
- Proven ability to plan, implement, and evaluate communications and engagement strategies, with demonstrated experience managing digital communication channels and web content.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of an organisation and produce clear, accurate, and timely materials for diverse audiences.
- Creative problem-solving approach to communications challenges.
- Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience in the arts, cultural, or museum sector and/or the tertiary education sector.
- Flexibility to work outside normal office hours when required.
- Experience working on or with Indigenous arts projects (desirable).
